At Trident Printing we are passionate about the environment. We realise that the printing industry has an effect on the environment, but unlike many companies we don’t just talk about it, we take active measures to reduce our impact. Accreditations achieved to date and constant improvements we are implementing mean that Trident Printing is at the forefront of environmental printing. Through our work with Carbon Smart we will reduce our carbon footprint by reducing our energy consumption, waste and emissions. We will also increase our recycling within the office and factory environment. Our carbon footprint will be measured annually and an action plan put in place. Trident Printing has ISO 14001 Environmental Standard Certification, Chain of Custody accreditation for both FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forestry Certification). We shall work with our clients to encourage the use of recycled materials and materials sourced from sustainable management of forests.
Our key environmental accreditations: - FSC Chain of custody accreditation
- PEFC Chain of custody accreditation
- ISO 14001 accreditation
- Carbon footprint reduction – in conjunction with Carbon Smart
Our achievements so far: - Trident Printing operate from a modern, purpose built plant
- Our new 5 colour Ryobi 755 uses 40% less electricity compared to comparable machines
- We use a Screen 4300 processless plate processor with Fuji Pro-T plates. This greatly reduces water consumption and eliminates the use of chemicals
- The inks used by us are vegetable based, thus reducing our emissions of VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds)
- All waste paper and plates are recycled from the manufacturing process
Trident Printing will continue to comply with the requirements of environmental legislation and approved codes of practice. We will continuously seek to improve our environmental performance resulting in the reduction of pollution, emissions and waste. This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its continued relevance. Please click here to download a copy of our Carbon Footprint & Action Plan.
